Factors that affect your choice

  • Budget: Speak to the groom and the key lads in the pack so you know the limits for everyone.
  • Weather: Are you looking for somewhere sunny or is it more about the activities available? E.g. if you’re keen on skiing, then a winter destination is your best bet.
  • Season: Travelling in the high season can be super expensive, so try to balance the weather with the cost.
  • The stag’s style: You know him best, so make sure you pick somewhere that suits who he is. Is he the city, mountains or beach type? It can’t hurt to check with him to see if he has some top destinations in mind.
  • Time off work: If you’re planning a long weekend trip, then it’d be best to check with the lads in the group first. Make sure everyone can get enough time off for what you’re planning.
  • Bank holidays: Similar to above, a long weekend is your best bet for plenty of time with all the lads to squeeze in as much stag fun as possible. But it can also be more expensive to travel on these dates.
  • Entertainment: Some destinations are known for certain activities. For example, Bournemouth is your best UK bet for sun and beach sports. Or choose Riga for snow sports.
  • Group size: The size of your group might affect where you’d like to go and what kind of accommodation might be available. E.g. if you’re looking for a private house or you’re happy with a big dorm room to yourselves.
  • Is it a surprise?: A domestic location is easier to organise as a surprise for the husband-to-be but going abroad allows for a bit more epic fun. Ask us how to plan everything carefully to make it possible but keep it secret!
